Wildlife Wonders has developed a week-long work experience program for secondary aged school students who have a passion for wildlife conservation and ecotourism.

Here's what the 2024 work experience students had to say about the experience:

‘During my week at Wildlife Wonders for the Work Experience Program, I did a variety of tasks, including working on the till, helping with groundskeeping, and assisting with animal health checks, such as bait wrapping and trap setting/checking. I also worked on a research project with other students, which was both fun and interesting. The experience taught me a lot, especially about working in a field I’m passionate about, meeting new people, and learning new skills. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about applying.’ Murphy E, Lorne P-12 College

‘I was lucky to do my Work Experience at Wildlife Wonders during their animal health checks, which gave me the chance to learn how to care for the small native mammals at the sanctuary. I also got to talk to veterinary students, who shared information about different ways to become a vet. I really enjoyed the program, and it helped me decide that I want to become a zoologist or a vet. I would definitely recommend it to other students.’ Amelia L, Mentone Girls Grammar School
