Conservation Ecology Centre
Wildlife Wonders was established by the Conservation Ecology Centre as a social enterprise.
A social enterprise is a business-based model being used to solve the most pressing societal problems and exists to benefit the community. You can read more here about how Wildlife Wonders is a social enterprise.
All profits generated by Wildlife Wonders support the crucial work of the Conservation Ecology Centre. This means that your visit to Wildlife Wonders is part of something bigger – you’re directly helping to support research and conservation efforts which are vital for protecting nature and wildlife.
Wildlife Wonders and the Conservation Ecology Centre share a focus on the beautiful Otway Ranges, or ‘the Otways’. The Otways is a stunning part of Victoria supporting extraordinary biodiversity, with ecosystems including cool temperate rainforest, woodlands, forests, heathland and rugged coastlines. The Otways are home to some threatened wildlife that are seldom found elsewhere in the wild in Australia such as the Long-nosed Potoroo and the Otways Black Snail.
Within the Sanctuary at Wildlife Wonders, you will be able to experience the beauty of this region before the introduced species of plants and animals - and how these ecosystems could be again, teeming with wildlife. The wildlife within the Sanctuary roam and live as they would in the wild, without threat to themselves or their habitats.
Conservation Ecology Centre’s vision is a healthy and resilient Otways cared for forever.
This organisation’s critical research and vital on-ground work tackles the most urgent conservation challenges facing the wildlife and habitats of the Otways.
Thank you for helping contribute to this important work.
