The Sanctuary

The Wildlife Wonders Sanctuary is a magical and ever changing place.

The Wildlife Wonders Sanctuary is a 30 acre haven of native plants and wildlife, surrounded by a protective fence, where you will discover a thriving Otways ecosystem that can’t be found anywhere else.

As there are no introduced predators such as foxes or cats inside the fence, there is no need for cages or enclosures. The wildlife roam freely throughout the Sanctuary as they would in their natural bushland environment.

The Sanctuary is home to families of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, and smaller shy marsupials such as bandicoots and potoroos, as well as abundant bird life, frogs and reptiles. You can learn about each animal in our Wild Lives.

Experiencing the Sanctuary

To protect the animals and plants, entry to the Sanctuary is on a guided tour only. There are a range of tour options available, including day time, dawn, dusk and private experiences. All tours are led by one of our knowledgeable and passionate Nature Guides, who will share the secrets of the bush and the plants and animals that live there.
