Your experience
Do you, or someone you know, need extra time or support to enjoy a visit at Wildlife Wonders? Or may perhaps benefit from a more sensory experience? We understand that every person living with a disability has different needs, and we would love to chat to you about how we can make a visit to Wildlife Wonders a memorable experience for you.
About the tour
Your Nature Guide will lead you through the magical Otways bushland of the Wildlife Wonders Sanctuary as you immerse yourself in nature on a 90 minute tour.
Here in the Sanctuary, you’ll discover lush tree fern gullies, explore eucalypt woodlands and marvel at spectacular ocean vistas while your Nature Guide will help you spot iconic Australian wildlife along the way.
The Sanctuary is protected by a fox and cat proof fence, so it is free from feral predators. This means you’ll be able to enjoy a thriving Otways ecosystem that presently cannot be found elsewhere.
Each nature tour will be a unique experience, encountering different, beautiful Australian animals living freely, as they would be in the wild. It’s almost certain you will see koalas, kangaroos and emus, but you might also be lucky enough to spot a potoroo, bandicoot and many other amazing Australian animals that call Wildlife Wonders home.
Carers, Companion Card holders are welcome free of charge and don’t count toward the 10 person total.
Accessibility
The tour winds along a gentle, 1.4km path suitable for all ages and while we have created the experience with accessibility in mind, we understand everyone is different with different needs, so please read more about accessibility here, give us a call on (03) 7046 1664 or email us at info@wildlifewonders.org.au to chat more about your needs.
A more sensory experience
We have created a version of this experience for those with more sensory based needs. This tour will feature a quieter, slower-paced exploration of the Sanctuary, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Australian bush at your own comfort level and pace. You are also very welcome to bring along sensory tools like fidget items, headphones and anything else that will make you feel more comfortable.

While on the tour, if you or someone in your group is experiencing sensory overwhelm or becomes dysregulated, we can decide together if a pause and break is best before continuing, or if you / they would prefer to leave the tour early. Wildlife Wonders is home to koalas, eastern grey kangaroos, emus, swamp wallabies, red-shouldered wallabies, long-nosed potoroos, a whole array of native birds and so, so many more. The Sanctuary is surrounded by a predator proof fence and being a sanctuary, the animals live as they would in the wild. There are no enclosures here. For this reason, we can’t guarantee which animals you will see on your tour but we do know that every tour experience is a completely unique one.
